We all want to develop good habits; the ones that will best serve us.
We don’t have to remind yourself to eat or brush your teeth it is just a habit.
We are very good at formulating bad habits, ones that when we reflect back on, are not helpful or beneficial to our lives. Skipping lunch then eating junk when we get in as we are so hungry.
Have a drink after work which then leads to two which then leaves us feeling less alert the next morning when we have an important meeting.
The more good habits we do automatically, the better we feel.
In 40 days, you can break a negative habit
In 90 days, you can establish a new habit
In 120 days, you will ingrain that new habit
In 1000 days, you will master the new habit
Firstly, choose a new habit focusing on a self-care practise. Exercise switching your phone off an hour before bed, whatever that simple task is.
Secondly give yourself on the calendar 40 days to start achieving this goal, tick off each day you have succeeded.
Then after 40 days continue for 90 days and so on.
Very soon you will start noticing the difference and start feeling the benefits from your new habit.
Once you start to make these small changes you will find they naturally become a part of your daily life. This can help you to manage your stress, anxiety or depression, as you are taking control of your own Mental well-being by making these small changes.
