Case Study

isolation-1767557

I have been working with a client in Stratford Upon Avon who is experiencing Stress and Anxiety. She has recently moved to Warwickshire and has been experiencing a sense of isolation.

I have been seeing her now for 4 sessions and the progress she has made is incredible.

We have looked at what triggers her anxiety in depth, as once you are aware of the triggers you can then put strategies in place to combat them.

We have explored what stress looks and feels like and we have in turn looked at what anxiety looks and feels like. My client has felt it most helpful to visualise colours relating to the anxiety and stress, as this has helped her to differentiate between the two.

She has also identified the anxiety is very heightened and feels overwhelming and leaves her breathless.

Whereas in turn the stress feels very dark and heavy and appears to be present for the whole day.

She shared how she recognises she still has work to do on herself. However, she acknowledged that last week was the first time she had not had an anxiety attack in ten years. She still faces challenges in overcoming her anxiety as the patterns of behaviours she has learnt, we effectively need to change and reprogram to positive patterns of behaviour.
